Leslie Nuckoles

Intern

Leslie Nuckoles was the Spring 2022 AmeriCorps service member through the Teton Science Schools. While at NRCC, she wrote a long-format article investigating the many challenges presented by climate change in high elevation ecosystems. She also assisted in organizing a panel on the subject, as well as managed NRCC’s social media. Leslie grew up in Southern Washington where her curiosity and love for the outdoors was sparked at a young age. Leslie graduated with a B.S. in Pre-Physical Therapy from Southern Oregon University. At SOU, she first encountered the challenge and joys of teaching where she taught climbing clinics and led backcountry trips. Having spent the last several years sharing her passion for the natural world as a river guide, she experienced teaching and outdoor education at TSS in a more focused way. Leslie is now pursuing a master’s degree in water resource management at Utah State. In her free time, Leslie enjoys running, hiking, knitting sweaters and looking for cool plants.
